Hearts & Lives ~ Case Management / Family Self-Sufficiency
- Family income support must become strengthened through efforts to connect families with the full array of available income and in-kind supports.
- Collaboration to navigate the “resource puzzle” includes partnerships with community- and countywide agencies in the effective integration of direct services. Our community development efforts are geared to obtain a diversity of funding options, which will ultimately help our families as well as Hearts & Lives sustainability.
The typical low-income family is eligible for and can benefit from several of the following income supports and referrals:
- Child care subsidies
- Child support payments
- Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)
- Educational subsidies aimed at increasing wages and increasing educational levels.
- Food stamps, WIC, and other nutrition support
- Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) payments continuing during initial employment
