Hearts & Lives ~
          Case Management
 / Family Self-Sufficiency
  1. Family income support must become strengthened through efforts to connect families with the full array of available income and in-kind supports.
  2. Collaboration to navigate the “resource puzzle” includes partnerships with community- and countywide agencies in the effective integration of direct services. Our community development efforts are geared to obtain a diversity of funding options, which will ultimately help our families as well as Hearts & Lives sustainability.
The typical low-income family is eligible for and can benefit from several of the following income supports and referrals:
  1. Child care subsidies
  2. Child support payments
  3. Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)
  4. Educational subsidies aimed at increasing wages and increasing educational levels.
  5. Food stamps, WIC, and other nutrition support
  6. Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) payments continuing during initial employment
